Ingredients

Pretzel Bites
  • 1 bag Plum Creek Foods soft pretzel nuggets frozen
Cheeseburger Filling
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon crumbled
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese or chopped American cheese
  • 1/4 cup pickles finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Skillet

Method

  1. Bake the frozen soft pretzel nuggets according to the package instructions and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper until fully browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Remove the beef from heat and stir in the bacon, cheese, pickles (if using), ketchup, and mustard until well combined.
  4. Carefully slice each pretzel nugget halfway through to create a pocket (do not cut all the way through).
  5. Spoon a small amount of the cheeseburger mixture into each pretzel pocket.
  6. Return the stuffed nuggets to a 350°F oven for 3–5 minutes, until heated through and the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy grabbing.

Notes

Make-ahead tip: Cook the beef mixture in advance and refrigerate. Stuff and warm the pretzels just before serving. For extra heat, add diced jalapeños to the filling.
